I Was Wrong…

I don’t utter these words very often, but I have come to learn that I was wrong about two things. Let me elaborate shall I 🙂

As I’ve travelled along this healthy living road I’ve had many ups and just as many downs. My thinking has evolved many, many, many times. I am a bit…ah shall we say…stubborn, so it takes me a while to decide that perhaps what I’ve been doing isn’t exactly right. I’m babbling here I know! I’ll get to the point…

Thing #1 that I was wrong about:

Carbs are evil! Well…at least for me they are. I’m not just saying this to go with the “trend” of low carb eating. Over the years I’ve been told on more than one occasion by doctors and specialists that carbs are no good for me. This is where Little Miss Stubborn always stepped in and took over my brain and mentally flipped off those doctors! I mean really what harm does a little bread, pasta, rice, crackers or fries do?? Well it turns out they cause a whole lot of harm. I recently stopped being stubborn and started reading and researching the merits of this whole low carb thing. I also really looked at what and how I was eating. Ummmm I ate A LOT of carbs. Like a lot! Once I stopped being stubborn and defensive. I admitted that I wasn’t eating the best way that I could and decided to change that. For the past little while I have been working really hard on not eating grain/wheat type carbs. It was hard at first really hard, but I’ve been feeling really good about the change.  On the weekends I still have pizza…because come on….pizza!!

Thing #2 I was wrong about:

The only fitness I ever did was cardio. I didn’t want to hear about strength training or lifting weights. I mean come on girls don’t do that and it’s totally boring. Wrong, wrong and wrong again! Shit I hate being so wrong. Once again I started to really think about my fitness and more importantly think about the results I wasn’t getting. I didn’t get it? Why wasn’t I seeing what I wanted? Well silly…you need to stop doing only cardio. So, once again I hit up my pal Google and started reading about strength training and weights for ladies. Well I discovered a whole new world of fitness that I am now in LOVE with!! Who would have thought? Not me 🙂 I am also still madly in love with my bike, but now I have been enjoying the best of both worlds!

So, once again, I have changed the course of this journey and have taken on some new habits. I’m sure there will be many more things that I was wrong about and many more changes along the way. But, I’m ok with it 🙂

Until next time….
